Wow its been a while..

OK so I have fallen off the blog wagon for a while, so here I go. We are doing well in the sunshine state minus a few ups and downs. I am getting ready to celebrate one year at my job. I currently doing three phonics classes and two math. That consumes most of my morning then in the afternoon I get to help out in all the classes. We recently had a fall party which we had to dress up as you can see below.

I was Miss America and Evanle was Cleopatra..Its was alot of fun! Then the friday before I got to go with our preschoolers to tricker treat at the hospital.

Evanle is doing okay in school. This year is turning out to be a bit harder for her as they is alot of focus on writing and its not her strong points. She recently was tested for gifted she missed getting in by 2 points. So next year she will be tested again. She has really high math scores for her age they say. She is doing chorus this year..which she loves but I could do without the singing all the time.

We are currently planning our trip to German to see my parents in April. We tried to get her passport done on Saturday but I failed to call first and they only do appointments that day. So we just got her picture done at CVS. It was very cute and so grown up. We cant wait to get over there and explore Europe.

One Proud Momma

The end of the school year is here and boy my girl did me proud. Evanle has been doing good all year long in school. Yesterday she had her final award ceremony and she cleaned house. She got honor roll again, one day only missed all year, reading achievement and a character award. Her school does a character program in which they honor students who represent the characteristic for that grading period. Evanle would get so upset that she didnt get the "red shirt award" (they get a red shirt) and how she was never going to get one. So yesterday her face was priceless when they said her name. The character was Citizenship. Not that the other characters are not important but to me this was a great one to get. I too got a present for my honor student...a cute shirt that says "Proud Parent of a Lanier Elementry Honor Student". Through out the year I have watched my baby grow up so much. She has taking our move and all the things that have come with it better then I could of thought she would. As of tomorrow my baby is officially a second grader and on her way to growing up quicker then I would like. Proud more then sad are my feelings today for she is turning out better then I could ask!!

Long time no Blog

So I have been not so good with posting to my blog. Im good at looking at others but not doing my own. Where to start....
Well Evanle is doing really good in school she just made honor roll for the three 9 weeks in a roll. She has met the reading level goal for the end of the school year already and her teacher thinks she will be at a level 20 by end of this year. Which will put her head of what is expected at the start of second. I would add a picture but for some reason wont upload to the site.
My work is going well bout to pass my 120 day mark. My class is running on most days smoothly now and really love seeing my kids change day by day. I have done all my florida required class but one and may look into getting back to school in fall. Kinda have to about start all over cause lots of my class will not transfer.
Weather is getting hot and we are spending most wekends at the beach. Last weekend Evanle and I did mother and daughter games at church. We took one first place and two second place medals. I got so sunburned on my legs but we had alot of fun together.

A New Year. A Year Older.

Well it is here the New Year. I still think wow when I write 2009 where did the time go. I spent my new years eve babysitting and working on my computer. Sounds fun doesn't it? Yep and then few days later my hard drive died on me. Luckily I talked my way to dell and they sent me a free hard drive. So now I am back on and running.

My new job is going good. It is defiantly different atmosphere then what I am used to. My curriculum is all planned out for me down to what stuff to discuss for the theme. Every two weeks we have new theme which requires the room to be redecorated. My new parents have been very welcoming and so have my co workers. I am still working on learning all the kids names in the center. There are only about 110 children enrolled. Really I just need to know my late children for when left in charge. My new schedule is nice but taking time to get used to. I don't get home till seven pm and then have to check homework, listen to Evanle read, eat dinner sometime and put her to bed by 8 ish. But hey I always have 40 hours since I cant leave till all the kids leave, so I love that part.

So as of tomorrow I am 27 years old. For some reason this is a hard birthday to me. I guess its cause its so close to 30. Soon I will be what I used to think was old. Or maybe just other factors in my life that make it little hard to grasp. Oh well I have to deal and get over its happening. But for now on I think I will forever be 27, sounds good to me.

New Job

So for those who dont know yet I got my new job in St. Petersburg. I am teaching young threes and the night supervisor. I started on Wednesday and by Friday got to meet all my new parents at our holiday party. I am very excited! As with many new things I have some class to take and get into the swing of how Florida does things.

I am very excited also for Christmas and the new year. This year has been something and I am sure ready to start the new year off in the right direction. I am so thankful for the many answered blessing God has put before me in the last couple weeks. I hope for these blessings and opportunities to continue in the new year.
On Thursday Evanle got to do her first school play. She was a Hawaiian hula dancer. They did Christmas around the world and it was so adorable. Of course in true Evanle style she was a stage star and didnt even look nervous. They worked hard all week to learn their lines and learn about the different ways around the world they celebrate Christmas. Evanle's good friend Corie was the narrator and also did wonderful with all the lines she had. Here she is before the show posing for me.

Miss the Seasons and other fun facts

Ok dont get me wrong I so enjoy Florida weather but I am so lost due to it. Everyday I have to remind myself it really is December already. Mind you this is hard when my body is feeling 85 degrees. There really is no seasonal changes here to indicate what the season is. I am very christmasey but I have found it hard to be this way with the weather. Palm trees look cute with lights but doesnt say christmas to me.

Evanle got to see santa last weekend. She was really excited until she got up there. He had bad teeth and bad breathe. We were at the International Mall which in this area is the pricey mall with gucci stores and places like that. The guy looked like he just came from the street no joke. I felt they could of done a better job in this area but hey everybody needs a job I guess.

On a sad note I recently was laid off from my nanny job. They could not afford to keep me on any more with things going how they are. I go monday for my second interview with BayFront Medical Daycare in St. Pete. Hopefully Ill be back to what I do know best. The position would have me teaching young 3 year olds. Not my usual age group but hey Im excited.

We have recently found a wonderful church we are now attending. Today we got to enjoy the christmas cantana which was really cute how they did it. Evanle has got the charity and recycling bug lately. I love it but it does have it bad points. Any time someone needs some thing at the school it is mom we need this or so and so needs that. Then I have been doing my own green change slowly and want to do recycling but there are moments I dont feel like picking up plastic bottles off the street as we walk in to the store.lol

Where to Start

Ok so I am new to blogging. I have posted blogs on myspace but thats different to me. We now have lived in florida for four months. Life has been like a roller coaster thats for sure. Finally I think we are adjusted to everything.

I work as a nanny for a eleven month old boy in clearwater monday thru friday 9-5. Its a little bit of a drive but anything was going to be after Ive been used to working a mile up the road from my house for almost four years. Evanle is doing well in school and has adjusted to the florida weather well. She made honor roll this grading period and got a good citizen award for her behavior. I enjoy her school and her teacher.

We still miss our friends back home greatly and cant wait to squeeze in a visit or have them come see us. HINT HINT for anyone wanting to get over the winter blues this winter.

I love my job it is an adjustment for me though. I miss having more then one baby to care for and someone else to talk to during the day. But things are getting better now that I have gym classes and sign language classes to take him to. They are a great family and I really enjoy them. Thanks to my Luke I am like a pro in our signing class. Well thats all for now.
